The All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to resolve its internal crisis.
APC calls on opposition parties to stop blaming President Bola Tinubu for the problems they are facing.
APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru and National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the call at a media conference on Friday in Abuja.
ADC accused Tinubu of weakening opposition parties to implement a one-party state ahead of the 2027 elections.
The party also accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of unlawfully derecognizing its national leadership led by David Mark.
ADC claims the commission misinterpreted the High Court order ordering the parties to maintain the status quo.
They further accused INEC of being partisan and insulting, and called for the sacking of its chairman and commissioners.
Responding, Basiru described the allegations as baseless and said the facts were clear to Nigerians and the international community.
He urged the ADC to accept responsibility, and stressed that blaming others would not resolve its internal leadership disputes.
“No amount of outside influence can erase their persistent failures or solve their remaining leadership problems.
“It’s just wishful thinking to expect other parties to save this country from problems it has repeatedly failed to address,” Basiru said.
He cited the loss of the APC seat in Zamfara due to internal crisis as an example of law enforcement at work.
“No anger, no conspiracy theories, just the consequences of failing to put your house in order,” added the APC secretary.
Basiru dismissed claims that Tinubu wants a one-party state, noting that Nigeria still has 22 registered political parties.
“President Tinubu does not have the authority to cancel the registration of any political party,” he stressed.
