The army refused the bribery of N13.7M from the suspected terrorist in the highlands

Operation Safe Haven troops reject the N13.7 million bribery offered by terrorists during operations along Jos-Sanga roads in Plateau.

Director of Defense Media Operations, Major. Markus Kangye revealed this when giving direction to journalists about military operations throughout the country on Thursday in Abuja.

He said the troops had responded to the call of trouble about terrorist activities when they intercepted two suspects who tried to bribe them with N13.7 million.

The spokesperson added that the troops also carried out offensive operations and responded to the tribulation call in Bassa, Barkin Ladi, South Wase, Riyom, and the East Jos Regional Government in the state.

According to him, the troops also performed offensive operations in Kaura and Sanga Lga from the State of Kaduna.

Kangye said: “During the operation, troops involved extremists, killed several, arrested 12 suspects, and saved three kidnapped victims.

“Some weapons, ammunition, motorbikes, and vehicles were found from them.

“Likewise, the operation safe hasn forces, while patrolling routinely, capturing seven militias/criminals in Barkin Ladi and Jos South Lga in the State of the highlands, as well as the state of Wamba and Sanga from the Christianity and Kaduna, each.

“The items recovered from them are weapons, ammunition, and motorbikes and drugs.

“On July 9, our dashing troops intercepted vehicles with bullet holes along Jos, Sanga Road. The suspect tried to push troops with monetary satisfaction, which they refused.”

“The troops arrested two suspects, recovering weapons, ammunition, vehicles, and the number of N13.7 million from them.

“While the investigation is ongoing, restored goods are in custody of the troops.”
