Operative police have arrested two suspects internationally wanting a fugitive because of alleged human trafficking and armed robbery.

The troop community relations officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said one of the suspects was the leader of the human trafficking syndicate desired by the Belgian authority, while the second was a key member of the Dubai -based armed robbery gang.

He added that the first suspect was the suspicion of the mastermind of large -scale human trafficking operations and had been declared by Belgian authorities through interpol notifications.

The spokesman said the notification was issued on December 19, 2023, added that the suspect was arrested in Benin, the state of Edo, following the intelligence and enforcement efforts that were diligent by police operators.

According to Adejobi, the suspect was accused of trading young Nigerian women, including minors, to Italy and then dissolved them throughout Europe for sexual exploitation.

He revealed that the victims were the target of oaths and psychological coercion based in Voodoo, with debts made up from £ 20,000 to £ 50,000 used to manipulate and control it.

Adejobi said: “The suspect’s criminal network involved handling in Brussels and France who managed the victim’s activities and gave him results.

“Following the sentence in Absentia in Belgium in 2021 for various exacerbated human trafficking accusations and leadership of criminal organizations, the suspect fled to Nigeria.

“After his arrest, the search for the premise revealed the burdensome material, including a photocopy of the passport intended for the relocation planned to Canada.

“The suspect has been scheduled to be charged at the Federal High Court in Benin.

“The second suspect was arrested by the Interpol National Bureau (NCB), Abuja in the hiding place in NSUKKA, the state of Enugu.

“He was sought by the authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a series of serious crimes including armed robbery, cult, drug trafficking, and other organized criminal activities.

“Intelligence has revealed that the suspect continues to coordinate criminal operations from a distance from Nigeria.

“The suspect has been directly associated with several high profile robbers in Dubai and Sharjah, including armed robbery at a grocery store in Dubai Mall.

“This arrest is the result of sharing strategic intelligence and operational collaboration between the Nigerian police, the National Security Advisory Office (ONSA), and the Dubai Police.”
