The Benue State Council Council on Tuesday summoned the Attorney General and Commissioner for justice and public order, Fidelis Mnyim, for the status of the bills that was passed in the past.
AG will appear before members of parliament on July 29 to explain the status of the bills ratified by the Assembly.
This follows the adoption of a motion transferred by the majority leader, Mr. Sahaeer, during the plenary in Makurdi.
Tiseer, in his presentation, said the DPR in June 2024, examined and issued 10 bills.
He added that the bill was in accordance with Governor Hyacinth Alia for approval.
The majority leader also revealed that at the end of 2024, the Parliament could not take into account the many bills that were passed, signed, and developed.

“Between December 2024 and June 2025, the DPR has sent two letters to the office of the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, asking him to submit a copy of all approved laws and those who did not approve, but were unsuccessful.
“The DPR is worried about the failure of the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice and Public Order to respond to requests about this issue.”
The movement was seconded by a member of Kwande West, Thomas Rugeri.
In his decision, the Speaker of the DPR, Mr. Hyacinth Dajoh, directed the Attorney General to perform and present the requested bills.
He said AG would also explain why he failed to respect the DPR’s request in the past.
