• It is broken and in tears, says an official
At least two high officials who served under the former president Muhammadu Buhari have questioned a widely widespread relationship that states that Aisha Buhari, wife of the deceased president, sent a posthumous message that asked the Nigerians to forgive her husband.
The alleged declaration, which became viral on social media and some blogs, mentioned Mrs. Bhari for saying that the former president repeatedly asked her to ask for forgiveness from the Nigerians in case of death.
According to the report, he said: “He always reminded me that he was only human, capable of both good and errors. That’s why I am here today, implementing all the Nigerians to forgive him please before he is finally put to rest”.
However, two former high officers of the Buhari Administration, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said to keep them honest daily not to be aware of these messages and noticed that Mrs. Buhari had not released any formal declaration as regards the death of her husband.
Aisha Buhari asks the Nigerians to forgive her husband before being buried today
“There has been no official word from his excellence, in fact it is at this moment so broken and in tears and, at the best of my knowledge, not able to make such observations, publicly or privately,” said one of the officials.
Another high -ranking helper described the viral message as “probably built”, underlining that in the moments of national mourning, “unconfirmed emotional statements tend to spread quickly, often without bases”.
A review of the public registers supports their position. At the time of the press, no important store has published a statement verified by Aisha Buhari from the disappearance of the former president.
Furthermore, the quote attributed to her does not appear in any interaction with discourse or medium known.
What is publicly documented is that at the end of 2022, while her husband was still in office, Mrs. Buhari appealed to the Nigerians to forgive the administration for any deficiencies.
During a public prayer session in Abuja, he said: “We have to apologize to the Nigerians and look for forgiveness … we made our contribution and God will forgive us”.
However, that comment has not been framed as a personal message of President Buhari.
