With a significant move to strengthen the supply capacity in Africa, Ben Farrell, MBE, group CEO of the Chartered Institute of Narnading & Supply (CIP) based in the United Kingdom, is visiting Nigeria to conduct a high -level commitment aimed at advanced the excellence of contracts and sustainability in the region.
Farrell’s visit marks a strategic milestone in the CIP mission to guide professional standards, ethical practices and supply chains resilient in developing economies.
His presence in Nigeria underlines Cips’ growing commitment to support African nations in the construction of more effective and sustainable supply systems.
The highlight of Mr. Farrell’s visit is the Cips Symposium Nigeria which takes place in Abuja on June 3, 2025, with the theme “Guide value and sustainability in contexts limited by resources through strategic contracts”.
The event should attract senior, politicians, development partners and leaders of the private sector. Participants will engage in practical dialogues on how strategic contracts can offer maximum value even in environments bound by limited resources.
“The supply is not just a transactional function; it is a key factor of development, responsibility and public value,” said Farrell.
“In today’s global volatile landscape, in particular in low resource contexts, ethical and strategic contracts are essential for resilience, growth and supply of services”.
In addition to the Symposium, Farrell’s itinerary includes high -level meetings with the interested parties of government ministries, donor agencies and private sector institutions.
These discussions will focus on the reforms of contracts, on the development of the skills and the integration of ethics and professionalism in public supply systems, aligning with the wider development agenda in Nigeria.
A critical involvement area during the visit is the CIPS Health Back Decrica program, an initiative designed to strengthen health systems throughout the continent.
Farrell will support his integration in the Nigeria health supply strategy, highlighting his potential to improve access, convenience and availability of products for life -saving health.
Farrell’s visit aims to strengthen the long -term goal of the cips to raise global supply standards with an emphasis on Africa.
The Institute is trying to build long -lasting partnerships that support professional development, support the resilience of the supply chain and promote sustainable practices that contribute directly to the achievement of sustainable development objectives (SDG).
