The Court upholds the Ekiti PDP Ward Congress

Judge Bamidle Omotosho from the Ekiti State High Court, Ado-Ekiti, on Friday strengthened the People’s Democratic Party Congress (PDP) held in 177 wards throughout the state on March 15.

The judge, who submitted the decision in the lawsuit filed on March 6 by Hon. Afolabi Ayodeji on behalf of the executive of the elected ward, also canceled a list of new delegates submitted by the PDP national leadership and reject other actions and decisions taken after the congress.

PDP, Acting Chairperson of the Party National, Umar Damagun, Secretary of National Organizing, Umar Bature, Chair of the Party Guard Committee in Ekiti State, Dare Adeleke, and the Independent National Election Commission (Inec) was registered as respondents in the lawsuit.

Judge Omotosho said: “The Supreme Court states that it is a basic principle that there is no lawsuit based on Charlatan’s claims must be followed up by the court.

“The High Court, in accordance with the legal principles quoted above, relies on unmatched dispositions and written statements of supporters of the origin of the defendant, hereby make the following command:

“That the plaintiff was the first defendant, chairman, and delegation of Bangsal 1, the Ado-Ekiti Regional Government, as shown in evidence 1, by paying attention to paragraph 1, 2 (a), and 12 of the implementation of the Democratic Party Convention (PDP), 2024.

“I stated that I was invalid, and hereby set aside, a recognized delegation list submitted by the defendant to the first, second, and third defendants, contrary to sections 2, 15 (2) (3), and 49 from the congress to select all PDP positions, with respect for sections 82 and 83, Couutedan, PDP. PDP Constitution.

“The defendants, Privi and their agents hereby continue to be detained from acknowledging a list of delegates recognized in contrast to the PDP constitution, 2017 (as amended).

“By paying attention to parts 82 and 83 of the Election Law, 2022, section 40, 223, and item 15 of the third schedule of the Federal Nigeria Republic of the Republic, 1999 (as amended), parties are advised to review the parts in this case to avoid sin and refrain from using self-help ghosts.

“Nobody will damage the authority of this order; Registrar’s order: Detention of the parties during the ugliness of the lawsuit, and a striking disobedience to the court orders of this court regarding the election of the 177th Congress of Bangsal, not insulting.
