The death toll from the cholera outbreak in Ndibokote Village in Ezza-Inyimegu Community, Izzi local government area of Ebonyi State, has reached 15 people.
The state’s Health Commissioner, Dr. Moses Ekuma, confirmed the news to journalists on Friday in Abakiliki.
He said three emergency centers have been designated to treat patients in the state.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Izzi LGA, Mr Steven Nwankpa, warned the affected communities to desist from practicing open defecation and other unhealthy lifestyles.

Nwankpa issued the warning while monitoring the extent of the epidemic in the community.
.He said: “The death toll has risen to 15 since Wednesday when the epidemic broke out in Ndibokote Village in Ezza-Inyimegu Community.”
“Make sure you maintain good personal hygiene.”
