The declaration of an Afeniferi Fazional group raises serious concerns for an attempt propensity and deliberated to find defects and exchange deception instead of objectivity. The group found demanding that pursuant to the renewed program of hope of President Bola Tinubu, the history of the return of Nigeria is firmly in progress.
The Afenifere rebel states that the performance of the administration of President Bola Tinubu in the last two years has witnessed a regression in human development, bad economic management and democratic relegation.
This is a jaundice vision, which echoes the opinion of opposition politicians, one of which the group has supported in the 2023 elections.
A balanced evaluation based on the available data reveals a more objective and progressive picture, with significant results between the challenges provided by a country such as Nigeria with problems of decades.
In addition to its confusing conclusions based on prejudice, the declaration raises the following issues. With the consequent clarification point by point, it will become clear that the position of the group is neither founded in facts nor in logic.
1. Economic reforms and their impact
The affirmation of the Afeninal faction according to which the economic reforms of Tinubu, in particular the removal of the subsidy for the fuel and the floating of the Naira, led to “non -mitigated sufferings” and “economic deformations” try to attract attention to some of the challenges but overlook the macroeconomic earnings. The removal of the subsidy for fuel, announced on 29 May 2023, spared over $ 10 billion in the government in only 2023, reducing tax voltage and redirecting funds to other sectors. By unifying the change of changes and the Naira float, he aimed to face distortions in the currency market, the foreign reserves increased to $ 38.1 billion by 2024 and reached a commercial surplus of N18.86 trillion of N18.86 trillions for the country.
Under the Tinubu administration, the Nigeria annual inflation rate dropped to 23.71% in April 2025 from 24.23% in the previous month. Food inflation, the most significant component of the inflation basket, remained high but moderate to 21.26% from 21.79%
While these figures indicate stabilization, the immediate impact on normal Nigerians is not lost. The cash transfer program, which provides funds to the poorest families and the benefits of over 5.7 million families, is a credible awareness.
However, by rejecting twin policies as “untreated errors” ignores the unsustainable nature of the previous regime of subsidies and multiple exchange rate systems, which were drying off public finances. A more balanced criticism would recognize the need for the reform at the same time underlining the need for better targeted social security networks.
Starting today, the Tinubu Administration has recorded over 900,000 beneficiaries of the presidential loan and the subsidy regime, over 600,000 beneficiaries of the student loan regime, in thefund, N70,000 minimum wages, monthly NYSC Salan Increase from NYGN in NYGN BAGS authors with an increase in NYS NYGA salary A significant drop in transport costs. The administration has also recorded over $ 10 billion of FX debt, the federal allocation of the growing states of 60%, allowing more local development projects, N50 billion released to end the perennial strikes of Asuu and over 1,000 Phc have revitalized nationally with another 5,500 in progress.
The administration has also paid n75 billion of palliative funds to states and LG for the distribution of food and cash transfers, over 150,000 young people are trained in the development of the software, technical support and the analysis of data pursuant to the project of 3 million technical talents for farmers, as well as 20,000 housing units at affordable prices under the construction of accommodation at affordable prices. Other Gains: Over Two Million Nigerrians Are Now Connected to New Digital Infrastructure and Community Broadband Hubs and Public WiFi Projects, 3.84% GDP Growth in Q4 2024 (Highest in 3 years), Over $ 50 Billion in New Fdi Commitments, Net Foreign Exchange RESERVES UP FROM $ 3.99 Billion (2023) to $ 23.11 Billion (2024), Over $ 8 Billion in New Oil and Gas Investments Unlocked, and Over 800 million dollars made in the elaboration of investments in solid minerals in 2024 and inflation in April had dropped to 23.17%.
Now it is pertinent to investigate the leaders of the opposition on alternative strategies that propose in contrast with the large list of significant results of this administration which currently for the benefit of the Nigerians in real time.
2. Cost of governance and oronsaye relationship
The statement according to which the Tinubu administration has not implemented the ORonsaye relationship and instead an increase in governance costs is inaccurate. The ORonsaye report, which recommends the merger or demolition of government agencies to reduce expenses, has not been fully implemented and has attracted criticism; It should be noted, however, that the administration has made some efforts to improve the tax discipline. The tax deficit was reduced by 5.4% of GDP in 2023 to 3.0% in 2024 and the debt service ratio dropped from almost 100% in 2022 to less than 40% by 2024. The government also recorded over N6 Trilion of Revenue in the first quarter of 2025, in part due to the removal of power modes and subsidies. These passages demonstrate fiscal prudence and in the end they will translate into immediate and tangible relief for citizens. The administration is working seriously to deal with these optics and prioritize the cost reduction measures, including the implementation of the ononsaye relationship, to restore public trust.
3. Accusations of prebendism and corruption
The affirmation of Afenifere according to which the Administration favors “the privileged and connected” through the corrupt palliative distribution and the allocations of mega-project is questionable. The reports of palliative that are managed badly or distributed through untreated channels have undoubtedly emerged, raising concerns about transparency.
The administration took measures against corruption, such as the suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Betta EDA in January 2024 for the alleged diversion of funds, reporting a certain commitment to responsibility. Critics can argue that more systemic actions are needed, but rejecting all efforts while propaganda overlooks these initial passages.
Without abusing presidential powers, the administration is working on the rise of actions on all the investigations in progress and the pursuit of corrupt practices. At the same time, critical agencies are placing credible tests on the containments during corruption. It should, however, note that in 2024 the Commission for economic and financial crimes (EFCC) has ensured a sentence of 4,111 records, marking its most successful year since its beginning. They recovered over N364 billion and significant amounts in foreign currencies, including $ 214.5 million, $ 54,318.64 and 31,265 euros.
The EFCC has reached its single more significant property recovery in 2025, with the final decline of an Abuja estate that measures 150,500 square meters and containing 725 Duplex units and other apartments. The EFCC concluded the final forfeiture and delivered the property to the Ministry of Accommodation in May 2025.
4. Democratic concerns and centralization
The accusation of Afenifere according to which the Tinubu administration is pursuing a “totalitarianism of the single state” and undermining democratic institutions is not supported and lacks merit. The claim to neutralize the legislator and the judiciary is also a false alarm.
The public should note that the Supreme Court has confirmed the victories of the opposition in States such as Kano, Plateau and Abia, suggesting judicial independence. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INC) had to face criticism by alleged appointment of people who are said to be affiliated to the party in power, but no proof that these appointed are members of the APC who transport cards.
The accusation according to which the Tinubu government breaks down on peaceful demonstrators is mainly unfounded. It is a regurgitated rhetoric unfolded pursuant to previous administrations as a reflection of wider challenges in the Nigerian democratic culture.
The issue of the State Police is more complex than the excessive simplified approach of the Afenifeic faction declaration. Each administrative policy is subject to the evaluation of the impact on security before implementation and there is a difference between the widely supported state police and a police state that critics could blame the federal government if implemented without caution.
5. Safety and social well -being
Contrary to the impression created, the administration’s security record is impressive. Over 13,500 terrorists, bandits and insurgents have been neutralized and 7000 arrested in the last year, even if there are still some news of abduction and violent attacks. The proactive response of the administration to security issues has paved the way for multiple farmers to return to their farms, influencing production and food supply.
The administration also started agricultural initiatives, including contracts for tractors, distribution of fertilizers and greater mechanization.
Even the government did not give in to its thrust of regional development since the administration has managed to establish development commissions in 6 geopolitical areas (South -ovest, North -ovest, central north. North East, South -est and Delta del Niger) to enhance communities and accelerate developments.
6. Political climate and 2027 elections
The claims of conflicts sponsored by the government within the opposition parties lack concrete evidence and should be ignored.
Economic reforms are undoubtedly laying the foundations for long -term stability, with a growth of GDP at 4.6% in the fourth quarter 2024 and an update of the Fitch B credit rating as proof. The latest update of Moody Investors Service of the evaluation of Nigeria from Caa1 to B3, with a stable perspective, indicates that the Tinubu administration is on the right path.
The government is not unaware of some discontent and difficult times among the Nigerians. There is an urgency in providing more tangible results, which is guaranteed given the impressive services of the Administration in just two years.
The Afenifere declaration saw the cup as an empty half. On the contrary, it is half full. Under the administration of President Tinubu, some of the problems of the Hydra Testa Nigeria are faced headlong.
The administration has achieved tax improvements, such as reduced deficits and the increase in revenues, which in the end will translate into a significant microeconomic relief for most short -term Nigerians, even if the government moves to face these problems with greater empathy and transparency.
The demonstrable priorities of the administration are to guarantee the nation, fix the economy and improve the development of human capital.
Citizens and responsible political leaders must work in collaboration with the Administration to face challenges and contrast disinformation, as highlighted in the warning against false news and deceptive videos of artificial intelligence.
Under the leadership of President Tinubu, Nigeria is turning the corner. From the stabilization of the Naira and curb the inflation to the reduction of debt charges e
By expanding access to education and health, the administration offers daring reforms with actual results. With better security, regional inclusion, anti -corruption measures and institutional reconstruction, the history of Nigeria’s return is not yet complete, but is firmly in progress.
