Nasarawa Amazons Football Club de Lafia continued its sensational career in the Nigeria Women’s Soccer League (NWFL) with an exciting 2-0 victory over visiting Ekiti Queens the 4th day at the city of Lafia.

In a match that had fans on the edge of their seats, both parties fought fiercely in the first half, but none could break the dead point.
However, the second half saw the homemade Lafia change to high march. Ojiyovwi Kesiena turned on the stadium with an excellent blow in the 62nd minute, sending local fans to a frenzy.
Only two minutes later, the powerful forward Janet Akekeromowei, freeing himself from his goal drought, broke in a second, sealing a crucial victory for the Amazons.
Ekiti Queens defended bravely, but Nasarawa’s solid defense remained firm, showing tactical brightness and resistance as the minutes were reduced.
With this very close victory, coach Christopher Danjuma’s team rose to the top of the 25 -points of the NWFL Premier League with 9 points, keeping his super six aspirations alive.
When reflecting on victory, coach Danjuma said: “The League is growing and we are improving with each game. The thrust of the second half made the difference, and we are focusing on building the cohesion and redemption of the team.”
Next, the high -flying Amazons are directed to Benin to face Edo Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, while they seek to extend their remarkable race in the league.
