The Police Command FCT saved three people in an attempt at robbery in the area of extension of the area and the resetting of APO, Abuja, on June 23, 2025, at about 10:30 pm.
SP Josephine Adeh, head of the Public Relations of the Command Police, says in a declaration that three people have been saved with various degrees of injuries inflicted by the attackers.
Adeh, who confirmed that “all injured people were immediately evacuated to the Sahad hospital, resetting of the hep, for emergency medical care. Unfortunately, one of the victims subsequently sold to his wounds and was declared dead by the medical personnel. His remains were deposited in the hospital.
According to the declaration: “Following a rescue call received by a commercial motorcyclist in the reinforcement of the APO, denouncing heavy shots in the area, the Police officer for division of the APO division, the CSP Uchenna Igwebuike, immediately mobilized its ambush and surveillance teams on the scene.
“The attackers hired the police team in a ferocious battle of weapons. In a rapid tactical response, a reinforcement team led by the Deputy Police Commissioner responsible for the operations, the DCP Isyaku Sharu, arrived on the scene. The operators responded with higher fire power, forcing the attackers to flee to the surrounding hills.
“Apart from the saved victims, a light green Toyota corolla with the GWA 620 Au recording number, belonging to one of the victims, was recovered on the scene. Furthermore, he ensured a joint manhole hunting operation that involves police officers and local vigilants is currently underway to trace and arrest the suspicions on the run”, he assured.
The declaration also states: “The police commissioner, Cp Ajao S. Adwale, extends his heartfelt condolences to the deceased family and ensures residents that the command remains fully committed to protecting lives and properties throughout the territory”.
