The Federation of Nigerian tennis cries President Ifedayo Akindoju

The Nigerian sports community was thoroughly thrown on Thursday after the death of the president of Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Engr. IFedayo Akindoju.
Akindoju, who disappeared on October 2, 2025, was widely respected for his passion, vision and tireless dedication to the growth of tennis in the country. Since he hired the NTF leadership, he has supported reforms and programs that have inspired players, coaches and officials, leaving what many have described as an indelible legacy.
In a declaration, the Federation expressed deep pain for the loss, observing that “Akindoju’s commitment to players, coaches, officials and the entire tennis family will be remembered forever”.
The NTF has also extended condolences to his family, friends and the wider fraternity of tennis, both at home and abroad.
“Engr. Akindoju served Nigerian tennis with unwavering passion and his leadership has left a sign that he will never forget. He may rest in perfect peace,” he read the declaration.
