The FRSC denied claims of removal of patrol points in the South East

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Sunday rejected recent claims suggesting the removal of patrol points in the South East states of Abia, Imo, Enugu and Ebonyi.

In a statement issued by Public Education Officer Olusegun Ogungbemide, the FRSC emphasized that it has no intention of removing patrol points in the South East.

Ogungbemide attributed the misunderstanding to comments made by the Zonal Commander of Zone 9 Headquarters in Enugu, Uche Chukwurah.

The Zonal Commander of Zone 9 Headquarters in Enugu, Uche Chukwurah, on June 21 announced the removal of static patrol/patrol points in the South East states of Abia, Imo, Enugu and Ebonyi.

But Ogungbemide said Chukwurah was misquoted by the media.

“Nothing could be further from the truth as such statements are not only misleading but may also misinform unsuspecting members of the public regarding FRSC management’s intentions in the ongoing operational realignment, which is not targeted at the southeastern states of the United States. country, but the nation in general.

“Consequently, any meaning read into the original statement attributed to the Zonal Commander Headquarters Zone 9 to create the impression that the FRSC is abolishing or intends to abolish patrols in the southeast is distorted, misleading and should be ignored,” he said.
