The group warned of the Picketing National Assembly for staff disputes

The National Assembly Progressive Staff Forum has requested the Nigerian Parliament Staff Association (Pasan) faction to quit the picket or hinder access to the National Assembly when they declare complaints.

The warning was issued in a statement released on Monday according to the Nigerian news agency.
In the statement, the Forum Coordinator, Isah Mohammed, urged members to pursue legitimate paths – such as submitting a petition to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) or Nigerian Police – rather than disrupting parliamentary operations.

He also revealed that the Registrar of the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, had become part of the committee to review the complaints of internal staff and ensure the legal process.

This forum appealed to Security Institutions – including DSS and Police – to be aware, emphasizing that every detail of order in the national assembly complex must be met with the company’s response.

Mohammed warned that protests in or around the legislative room could damage democracy and hamper legislative tasks. “Disputes in the palas should not interfere with the legislative tasks,” he said.
