In a religious landscape crowded with charismatic personality and doctrinal noise, Rev. Dr. Sam Oye stands out, not by volume, but for clarity. As a founder of the transforming Church International and conductor of the time of prophetic prayer globally (PPH), not only preaches the change: it builds it.
From a meeting that unites the life of Lagos to lead a spiritual movement through continents, Dr. Oye offers more than inspiration; Offers instructions.
In this revealing conversation, he faces a critical challenge for Nigerian Christianity: the dangerous incorrect interpretation of the scriptures born from personal wounds and weak theological foundations.
What inspired you to start the transforming Church and how the journey has been so far?
It all started during a 21 -day fasting in Lagos in the year 2000. The last day, I had a divine encounter that changes life. The Lord ordered me to move to Abuja and to start a church; However, it was not my first call meeting. At the age of 15 in 1989, I had a supernatural visit from Jesus where he told me that I would place churches and form leader for him. He said in particular that the headquarters would be in Abuja, with the branches that spread in Nigeria and in the world. In 2002, I obeyed and transferred to Abuja. We started in a small class in Wuse 2 with a handful of people. Initially, it was called Harvest House, but when the vision evolved, it became what we now know as the Transforming Church (TTC). Today we are a multinational apostolic family with branches in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States and the Philippines, with a huge community of electronic church all over the world.
What is the story behind the hour of prophetic prayer (PPH) and what distinguishes it as a global movement?
The hour of prophetic prayer was born not by strategy but pure obedience. While returning from a powerful meeting in Florida hosted by the shepherd William McDowell, I clearly heard the Lord, “he returns home and prays with my people”. I thought it would be a simple five -day prayer for the members of our Church. But a few days before the meetings, we met inexorable rainfall. I almost deleted the sessions until my wife suggested me gently: “Why not just pray with them online?” Initially, I laughed. Once I had joked about online prayers, but the Spirit of God said: “Do what your wife said.” We started online in a very modest way. No pr, no marketing; only obedience. What was supposed to be a five -day prayer has now become a global fire altar, which runs every day for over 1,500 days. Today, millions come together daily from over 110 countries and God continues to confirm his presence with amazing miracles, liberation and awakening.
The hour of prophetic prayer (PPH) has grown significantly. How do you support the consistency necessary to conduct such a movement daily?
The secret is compassion and grace. Every day, I am aware that someone is desperate for help: fight dependence, depression, affliction or confusion. When the ministry is led by the ego, you will crash you but when it is guided by true compassion, grace flows like a river. God continues to pour into me because I have never stopped pouring into people.
What were some of the testimonies of the greatest impact from the PPH sessions that continued to go?
PPH is a fountain of wonders without number. We’ve Documented Hundreds of Verified Miracles, Including 35 Years of Diabetes Healed, 32 Years of Chronic Migraines and Insomnia Reversed, 24 Years of Hemorrhoids Vanished, 23 years of Crohn’s and colitis healed, 17 years of infertility Broken, 14 Years of Tarnness Turned Into Triplets, 11-Year-Old Child Haled of Slip Disc, Six Years of Joblessness Ended in 48 Hours, Fibroids the diski-open eyes, open blind eyes, blind ears open the cases of the overturned court, the lost and baptized souls. The PPH altar is a womb for the testimonies.
How can people actively engage with PPH?
PPH is not a show; It is a spiritual school in which we teach people how to pray with power, discern the spiritual signals and operate in the Authority of the Kingdom every day at 5:50 (WAT) on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and X – @revsamoye.

My writing journey started with pain. In 1999, I suffered a deep personal loss and for this pain my first book arrived, “yesterday Can Kill”. It was raw, healing and deeply liberating for many. Since then, I have written several titles including “The 7 Forces of Breakthroughs”, “The Emerging Leader”, “The Prayer Switch”, “The Limit Breaker”, “The Singles Checklist”, “The Singles Compass”, “Crack it”.
They will soon be available globally on Amazon. My books are tools for healing, alignment, leadership and navigation of fate.
Your teachings are global. How to balance the theological depth with practical relevance?
I believe in application theology. The Bible is not a relic: it is a manual for victorious life. I teach people how to listen to God, guide like Jesus, be successful with the values of the kingdom, build divine families, make wise decisions, win in businesses, career and purpose. If it does not transform the lives, it is not a gospel.
What are the most urgent problems that singles and couples face today and how to help you?
The biggest problem is not the lack of partner; It is a lack of wisdom. Many singles are spiritually strong but socially disconnected. They don’t know how to attract, connect or communicate. I teach them to combine prayers with preparation. For married couples, we face issues such as sexual dysfunction, financial misalignment, parents’ struggles and emotional betrayal. Whether it is single, married, divorced or widow, we provide relevant teaching, prophetic coverage and practical wisdom to restore dignity and direction.
How can shepherds and leaders build systems for sustainable growth?
Growth does not happen only by chance; It is built by structure, strategy and leadership pipelines. In TTC, I don’t do everything. I train people who build systems that build the Church. Growth occurs when vision is multiplied through enhanced teams; Not when you get the results of micromanage.
What are the first three leadership principles that shape your ministry?
The first is the teamwork that guides the impact. No prosperous vision in isolation; I don’t build alone. I raise teams that run with the vision. Together, let’s reduce what a man cannot transport. Secondly, it is the vision that provides indications. You can’t guide what you can’t see. Vision clarifies, filters the distractions and decisions of the anchors. I lead according to what God has shown. Thirdly is the prayer that feeds the execution. Prayer is not optional; It is fundamental. Without prayer, the vision loses power. Read strategies in prayer before building them in public.
How can individuals discover their purpose in the ministry?
The aim is not something you understand; It is something that God reveals. It is its original intention for your existence engraved in your spirit before the start of the time. You will not simply find out through introspection or personality tests. The real purpose is discovered in the presence of God, not in the opinions of men. Your gifts can suggest and your charges can indicate us, but only God can reveal it precisely. So, you start using faithfully where you are. Don’t wait to be called by a title, go out in obedience. While you pour into service, the divine direction will begin to climb. Many never discover their purpose because they still sit awaiting lightning when in reality God often reveals the next level while moving in faith. When you present yourself in service, Paradise presents itself with the details. Obedience always precedes revelation.
What advice do you have for those who feel called to the ministry but I’m not sure where to start?
Don’t wait for a platform; Enter service. The Ministry begins where obedience meets the opportunity. Serve in silence, follow a mentor and transport charges before carrying microphones. God promotes those who present themselves in the shadows. Loyalty is the seed; Start in small, it remains consistent. God will reveal the next step as you move. Never confuse the call with the spotlight. Some of the most greasy ministries were forged in darkness. If you can’t serve when nobody is looking at, you’re not ready to drive when everyone watches.
How do you train and the leaders unfold effectively?
In the transforming Church, we are intentional on the breeding of leaders, not by placeholder. We are a development church of people committed to helping people to discover their calls, develop their ability and take clearly. Through a structured leadership pipeline that includes the Transformers program in various forms, we guarantee that each believer is equipped to grow spiritually and serve effectively. We do not only assign people to roles: we align them with a purpose. Each training is designed to arouse gifts, refine the character of form. We develop leaders who are not only suitable for the ministry in the church, but also positioned to drive impact in the business, government, education and culture.
What is the biggest challenge for the Nigerian Church today?
Some of the major challenges are doctrinal distortion and spiritual disunion. The scriptures remain infallible, but many interpret them through the fog of personal wounds, pride or surface theological land with consequent fragmented truth and competing voices in the body.
The Church must return to the centrality of Christ, the authority of writing and the unity of the Spirit.
How does the transformed church model the spiritual and social panorama of Nigeria?
We discuss believers to be rises in culture and light in systems by providing them to influence the government, business, education and beyond. Our impact does not stop at the pulpit; It flows into politics, productivity and daily life of people. We are also deeply engaged in the transformation of the community, providing clean water, education, health care and we hope for underground areas. Our mission is simple: to raise reformers, reconstruct the communities and reveal Christ.
