- The football community is gathering behind the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appeals after the controversial two -year suspension of the League of Coach by the Cross State Football Association (CRSFA), a decision that many see with suspicion.
The coach Ulor, who manages May & Frank FC, has recently been banned for matches of match-Fixing and game manipulation. However, the times and context of the decision led to widespread criticisms and questions about the reasons behind the move.
At the center of the dispute is the secretary of the CRSFA, Mr. Talabi Oke, whose recent observations that exhort Calabar -based clubs to join against the Cynosure FC have taken a check. Observers note that coach Ulor ban has arrived shortly after these statements, feeding the speculation that the action was politically motivated rather than disciplinary.
Several parts affected by football have expressed their discomfort, suggesting that the CRSFA move could be a deliberate attempt to influence the ongoing procedures in front of the Committee for NFF appeals. Despite this, they remain safe in the integrity of the Committee.
“The NFF Appeal Committee is known for its independence and professionalism,” observed a stakeholder. “We believe it will deal with the question for its merit, regardless of distractions or pressure from any quarter.”
It is important to underline that the interested parties have underlined that the case that is reviewed by the NFF appeals committee is separated from the CRSFA judgment and therefore should not be confused.
“This is a clear attempt to confuse the waters,” said another official. “But we are optimistic that the committee will base its decision exclusively on the facts presented.”
Further concerns have been raised on what some perceive as a targeted campaign against Cynosure FC and its president, potentially linked to the internal policy of the state of the state. The perceived revenge has questioned the impartiality of the Actions of the CRSFA.
The growing support choir for the NFF Appeal Committee underlines the desire of the football community of transparency, equity and justice. With the eyes of the world of football that looks, the interested parties hope that the final verdict of the Committee will resurface these principles, free from external interference.
