The Lagos assembly convenes CP on the increase in worship activities

The Chamber of the Lagos State Assembly convened the state police commissioner, Jimoh Moshood and the official government officials for renewed clashes of worship and violence in the Mushin area and in other parts of the state.

The motion for the convocation was raised during Monday’s plenary by Olayinka Kazeem, which represents the Mushin electoral college, in issues of urgent public importance.

The speaker. Mudashiru Obasa denounced the loss of lives for worship violence in the state.

According to him, the commissioner for the local government and the business of Capo, Bolaji Robert are also called up; Commissioner for the budget and economic planning, Ope George; and the commissioner for education, Tolani Ali-Balogun.

The speaker underlined the need to face the problem through effective security and involvement of young people.

“Local governments must take responsibility for these unbelievers, many of whom now live under bridges. We must also intensify the efforts to significantly involve young people,” said Obasa.

Previously, Kazeem said there had been a disturbing increase in violence linked to worship and youth disorders in his electoral college.

β€œThis problem is heartbreaking for both people and families of these children.

“I undermine the assembly to impose safety agencies to intensify the repression of cultural and apply rigorous drug control,” said Kazeem.

He also asked for urgent reorientation and intervention programs to remove young people from violence.

In his comment, Mr. Nureni Akinsanya, Mushin, while supporting the movement, said that the armed gangs have taken on different roads in Mushin.

Contributing, Mr. Bonu Solomon (Badagry I) asked for more rigid penalties for transgressors, warning lightly of the treatment of worship violence.

Speaking, Mr. Femi Saheed (Kosofe II) identified the abuse of sachet alcohol as a key contribution to youth violence.

Saheed supported the meetings of the parties concerned with young people in difficulty as part of a wider intervention strategy.

Contributing, Mr. Rasheed Shabi (Lagos Mainland II said that legislators have often been pushed to save arrested cultists.

He suggested that these individuals should be authorized to face the complete consequences of their actions.
