The leader of the highlands accused the military of helping the Fulani militia during the attack

A community leader in Jebbu Village binds the Ta-Hoss District in the Riyom Regional Government in the State Plateau, where armed people suspected of being the Fulani militia who were attacked on Monday killed more than 30 people, accused the military of supporting the bandits by providing protection to them and covering up to easily penetrate and attack the community.

Community Leader, Rev Davou Musa, who is the Chairperson of the Church of the Church of the Church of the Christ in Riyom, made accusations in a chat with Riak Nigeria on Thursday after the visit of Governor Caleb Mutfwang to the community for assessment on the place of damage and victims.

Rev Musa revealed that armed attackers would not feel so easy to attack the community in large numbers and operate for hours even though military operations were only 200 meters away, if they did not have support from the army.

According to the Chairman of the RCC, although there was repeated and panic assistance, the military refused to help them and refused to intervene to prevent massacres, without arrests made afterwards.

He blamed the military for failing in his duty to protect the people and accuse personnel involvement by protecting the attackers and asking the federal government to attract a special military task force that was deployed in the community because they could not protect the people.

“I have told GOC in clear terms and I repeat it for your hearing that the people (GOC) are busy supporting Fulani, even in the destruction of land and agricultural land,” Musa said.

“The attackers find it easy to attack the community and operate for hours and the soldiers who were placed only 200 meters who refused to come to help us even though there was a panic call made to them.

“The heinous attack claimed innocent lives, made many others injured, and resulted in the destruction of the house, including a church. Food items owned by villagers were also looted by attackers, adding to the tragedy.”

Moses also accused that soldiers were compromised and more concerned to protect Fulani’s cows than human life.

“Is it unclear that the military protects and protects the attackers? When Fulani’s pastor became a victim of livestock theft, security forces responded quickly, mobilizing several Hilux vehicles laden with armed personnel to investigate and arrest suspects.

“Conversely, attacks on villages that result in the loss of human lives often receive slower and less strong responses. Differences in the spread of security continue to cause concerns about the priorities and protection of human life.

“Now it shines that the military is compromised and more concerned to protect our attackers than our people and our community,” Rev Musa said.
