The MSS class of ’88 gives Sports equipment to Alma Mater

MBAISE, IMO STATE – The 1988 set by Mbaise Secondary School (MSS), led by Hon. Chapter Justin Arethi Mgbeoduru (Ksji) donated a series of sports equipment to their Alma Mater in an attempt to revive sports activities in the school.

The donation, which included calcium, volleyball kit and tennis equipment, as well as a mowing machine, was described as the group’s contribution to rekindle the spirit of sportiness among the students. Head Mgbeoduru highlighted the vital role to model young lives, reminding the enviable history of MSS of sports excellence enviable.

Often indicated as “Flagship secondary school of Mbaise”, MSS has produced significant sports icons such as Dr. Patrick Ekeji, the first Nigerian to train two national teams; The legendary goalkeeper Prof. Eddie Oparaoji; and class of ’88 and ex Nigeria International, Sunny Nwachukwu.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, the National President of the Mbaise Secondary School Old Boys Association (Msssoba), Barr. Emmanuel Ekechukwu, applauded the 1988 set for their ingenuity and love for their Alma Mater. He urged the principal of the school, Mr. Paschal Njoku, to guarantee the correct safeguard of the donated articles. Barr. Ekechukwu has further committed to collaborate with the Ministry of Public Education to guarantee greater commitment to the protection of school properties.

Both the students and the school direction present at the event expressed enthusiasm and gratitude for the class of ’88 for their generous gesture, describing it as timely and stimulating.
