The native of Biafra (IPOB) accused the Nigerian government of using a mercenary who was not an official of the State Service Department (DSS), as a witness to prosecution (PW-BB) in an attempt to despair to punish its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The group, in a statement issued on Friday by the Secretary of the Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, accused that the individual presented as a witness to affiliate with the law firm and did not have a valid bond with DSS operations.
According to Power to the wise Ipob investigation of the identity of the masked witness revealed that he was employed by the Nigerian government and teaching what must be said to burden Kanu.
According to the statement, the name and testimony of witnesses was not included in the original witness list given to the defense, but was smuggled as a witness in what was described as “trial with an ambush” and a clear case of violations of prosecution that deserves to be punished and sanctions.
“IPOB strongly condemns the abuse of the continuous legal process of the Nigerian government and the spread of fraud in the ongoing trial from our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” the group said.
“The latest embarrassing development is the presentation of individuals called the BBB prosecution witness (PW-BB)-a man who does not work for the State Service Department (DSS) and which has been exposed under a cross-examination as a mercenary planted by the government.
“This individual receives strategic guidance to disguise himself as an insider who is informed when in reality, he does not have a legal relationship with DSS operations or detention regimes in which Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been held unfairly.
“The appearance of the courtroom – coated with statements like ‘I don’t know,’ ‘is not my job,’ ‘no one tells me’ – making witnesses who do not know about facts and do not meet the requirements to give a reliable testimony.
“It is very worrying that the name and statement of PW-BBB has never been revealed in the original list of witnesses to be served.
This group further urged the trial judge, judge James Omotosho, to make a judicial notification of development and prevent the abuse of the process undermine the integrity of the courtroom.
“Ipob called for the honorable justice of James Omotosho to pay attention to this inherent tactic and ensure that the misuse of the process was not permitted to pollute the sanctity of the courtroom.
“In addition, the facts about the detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu are clear and can be verified. Isolation confinement is a standard operational protocol of DSS, and many independent reports have confirmed that our leaders experience this inhuman condition.
“The British consular staff who made regular visits to Mazi Kanu realized this, and DSS internal records could strengthen it. No actors were rented or government witnesses who could change this truth.
“Efforts to lend the credibility of the lies of foreigners who are trained not only harm justice, but also in -depth insult to Nigerian justice. IPOB calls on media homes to refuse to become echo spaces for the state propaganda. Enforce the truth, objectivity, and constitutional principles are more urgent than before.
“We convince the community and the international community that PW-BBB’s identity, role, and fraud will be fully revealed. The Nigerian government must be held accountable for the continuous manipulation of the judicial process. Justice must apply.
