The Noc Female Commission launches the second national sports seminar, expands the flow rate to include female officials
Abuja (Reporter Core) The female commission of the Olympic Committee Nigeria (NOC) officially announced the kick -off of the 2nd edition of the series of sports seminars.
The series will take place through the six geopolitical areas of Nigeria.
Based on the success of the inaugural edition, the Commission has significantly expanded its horizon to include referees, referees and technical officials in this year’s program.
By embracing the spirit of International Women’s Day and his call to “accelerate the action”, the seminar will focus on “ability to capacity in sport”.
In a significant move towards inclusiveness, participation has been open to many female stakeholders in the sports ecosystem, by administrators and coaches to the new technical staff included.
The series of seminars will begin in the north -western area and will be held from 9 to 11 July 2025, at the prestigious business school, CBN Center of Excellence, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
It will be immediately followed by the central leg of the North, held from 14 to 16 July 2025 at the University of Jos.
The Commission has confirmed that sports administrators, coaches and expert technical experts will hold lessons and facilitate seminars for the participants.
This initiative is a milestone of the Noc strategy to raise women in leadership roles within the nation’s sporting structure.
These seminars are seen as a critical path to achieve this goal, aligning themselves with the global push by bodies such as the International Olympic Committee (CIO) for greater equity of gender in sports governance.
The program for the remaining geopolitical areas – North East, South South, South East and South West – is scheduled for August 2025, with specific dates and places to be announced shortly.
The female commission extends an invitation open to all women who occupy any role in the Nigerian sports sector to seize this precious opportunity for professional development.
