Abuja (Core reporter) In a show of solidarity and cars encouraging the Nigeria Olympians Association (Noa) Thursday 24 July 2025 launched drums in its third national convention, to celebrate the heroes and heroines of the sports of Nigeria and in particular the Olympics.

The event that took place at the Zeus Paradise Hotel in Abuja once again saw the distinct Nigerian sports icons who again made smiling faces while they were called to the podium for the recognition of life prizes. This followed the three -day national summit of the association with the theme “The Labors of Our Heroes Past”. However, the celebration was a platform to recognize the exceptional commitment to the Olympic spirit, the national service and the well -being of athletes.

Olumide Oyedeji, the president of Noa and a former basketball Olympian who was also honored by the association underlined the importance of honoring those who opened the way for sports progress and the excellence of Nigeria. He assured that Noa will continue in this spirit so that the younger sports personalities know that their labors will surely be rewarded.

Among the recognized Olimpics were the former Super Eagles and Dream Team coach and Samson Siasia Olympic from 1988, Agostino Egaguavoen, the Medal of the Olympic Sprint Deji Aliu (1996, 2000, 2004); And Henry Nwosu, a veteran of the 1980 and 1988 games. Other winners included famous Jumper Long Yusuf Alli (1984, 1988), Armelia Edet (1972), Sprinter Samson Oyeledun (1980, 1984), boxer and medal of 1972 Isaac Ikuohria, Palla di hand player Mary Mkpolulu (1992) and weight and weight and weight Cosmo Sampson Sampson (1980).

Noa also honored key figures whose efforts have significantly improved the well -being of the athlete and promoted the Olympic movement. Among these were the general controller of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir adiwale Adeniyi, MFR; Journalist and publisher Veterano of Sports Village Square, Kunle Solaja; and Larry Izamoje, president of Flat Communications Plc.

The Noa summit continues to act as a vital forum to trace the future of sports in Nigeria, focusing on the well -being of athletes, the Legacy construction and the promotion of a more sustainable sports ecosystem.
