The police command in the state of Kaduna started an intensive investigation on the alleged political violence during a meeting hosted by the former governor Nasir El Rufai and shooting episodes of political criminals.
The command spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, announced the investigations on a statement released on Saturday in Kaduna.
Hassan said: “The accident occurred after a political meeting presumably organized by a political party, ADC, without prior notification to the police and other relevant security agencies, despite repeated warnings and advice.
“The situation was further complicated by the presence of high -profile dignitaries, in the state at the time.”
According to him, the preliminary results indicated that the gathering led to a clash, during which the criminals and political gangsters attached to the former governor presumably shot shots of firearm, causing chaos and interruption of public order, peace in the state.
“The police command has further launched an investigation from the secretariat of the ADC party to maintain the registers straight.
“Consequently, the party officials denied knowing any meetings and confused the claim of the organizers.
“The leadership of the ADC reiterated their commitment to the rule of law and moved away from the statements of the former governor.
“The command wants to categorically declare that the investigation is in progress.
“Anyone who has found guilty, regardless of his personality and does not matter how highly an individual is, if he acted in contrast with the law, he will have to face all the weight of the law,” he said.
Hassan said that the command has strongly warned that any hotel, event center or a similar structure that allows meetings or political meetings without prior notification to the police or other relevant security agencies, will also be held responsible.
He said that this measure was to ensure that the right trial was followed and to prevent criminals or unbelievers from diverting these meetings to cause chaos or distribution of the law and order.
“In the interest of peace and public security, the command also announces that all these unauthorized meetings must be suspended until the debt security agreements are guaranteed,” said Hassan.
