The Kaduna State Police Command has launched an intensive investigation of the alleged shooting incident during a meeting organized by former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The suspect thug on Saturday disrupted the inauguration of the Transition Committee which was united by the opposition parties in the state.
The criminals stormed the place with other dangerous items and weapons, attacking guests at the event, and damaged vehicles.
Some people were injured in Fracas.
Those who were at the meeting were members of the Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the Democratic Party (PDP), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Labor Party (LP), and the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP).
Command spokesman, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the investigation in a statement on Saturday night at Kaduna.
He said: “The incident occurred after a political meeting that was said to be held by political parties, ADC, without prior notice to the police and other related security institutions, despite recurring warnings and advice.
“The situation is more complicated with the presence of high officials in the state at that time.
“The initial findings showed that the meeting caused a clash, where criminals and political gangsters were attached to the former governor suspected of shooting shots, causing chaos and disruption of public order, peace in the state.
“The police command will further launch an investigation from the ADC Party Secretariat to maintain a straight record.
“Therefore, party officials denied knowing every meeting and denied the organizers’ claims.
“ADC’s leadership reiterates their commitment to the rule of law, and they distance themselves from the claims of former governors.

“The commando wants to decisively declare that the investigation is ongoing.
“Anyone who finds a mistake, regardless of his personality and does not care how high someone is placed, if he acts against the law, he will face full law weight.”
The command strongly warns that the hotel, event center, or similar facility that allows political meetings or meetings without prior notice to the police or other related security institutions will be held accountable.
“This measure is to ensure that the legal process is followed and to prevent thugs or criminals hijacking such meetings to cause chaos or legal disorders and order.
“For the purposes of peace and public safety, the command further announced that all such unauthorized meetings must be suspended until a reasonable process and the right security settings are confirmed,” the spokesman added.
