The police thwarted the kidnapping efforts, saving 11 in Katsina

Police operations in Katsina on Sunday thwarted the kidnapping efforts and rescued 11 victims in the state.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Abubakar Sadiq revealed this in a statement on Monday in Katsina.

He added that the operation was carried out with other security agents.

The spokesman said: “On June 8, 2025, around 2230 hours (10:30), a joint security team consisting of police operators, military, DSS, Daji Suggestions Operations Team, Katsina State State Members, Katsina, Katsina, with Road, Katsina. Trying and saving eleven kidnapped victims.

“The team met with a group of armed bandits who tried to escape with their victims were kidnapped from various locations in the state when the battle of weapons occurred, which led to the saving of the success of all eleven victims, consisting of nine females and two men, when the bandits fled from the scene due to superior tactics and the power of fire.

“Investigations are ongoing to arrest suspects who escaped and prevent further events.

“Police Commissioner, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, praised the operators for their unusual courage and reaffirms the commitment of the order, in collaboration with sister security agents, to fight threatening the abduction in the state.”
