The governor of the state of Bayelsa, senator Douye Diri, described the supply of a 60 megawatt gas turbine by his administration as a reference result for the state as he marked his 29th anniversary on 1 October 2025.

On education, the governor observed that the state had recorded significant progress, citing a better performance in the external exams.

“Our schools are improving. The recent Neco results have placed Bayelsa among the first five states in Nigeria.

“To strengthen technical education, we have established scientific, technical and professional college in every area of ​​the local government. Those of Ayamasa, Ofoni, Swali, Sampou and Opume are already functional, while others in Brass, Igbeta-Ewoma and Oporoma are in the completion phase”, he added.
