The president confirmed the start of direct flight from Lagos to São Paulo

The largest airline in Nigeria, Air Peace, will soon start a direct flight from Lagos to Brazilian City Sao Paulo.

According to Bayo Onanuga, special advisors, information and strategies, direct flights are one of the agreements achieved between the President of the Tinubu soccer and Brazilian leader, President Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva, during the visit of the State President Tinubu to South America on Monday, August 25, 2025.

He noted that President Lula, at a joint conference with Tinubu, said the agreement had been achieved.

“Increasing a direct connection between Nigeria and Brazil is another important step to strengthen the bond between our community. We have approved the launch of direct flights, to be operated by the largest airline company in Nigeria, Air Peace, between Lagos and São Paulo,” he said.

After an extended two -hour bilateral meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of the agreement and Mous at Palácio Do Planalto in Brasília.

Minister of Flight Development and Aerospace, Festus Keyamo, and Brazilian Port Minister and Airport, Silvio Costa Filhos, signed a bilateral air service agreement to improve trade relations and people-people.

The State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nigeria, Ambassador of Bianca Ojukwu and Brazilian Foreign Minister, Ambassador Mauro Vieira, signed an agreement on diplomatic training cooperation.

The two ministers also signed an MoU on political consultation to overcome the same joint problems with common interests.
