The president of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Hajji Gafar Liamemed, together with Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, ACG HK Ejibunu, Dr. Chioma Amajoh (Mama Malaria), PST. Dr. Victoria Ben Shimfe and others were honored on Saturday 21 June 2025, with the National Development Merit Award and introduced in the National Development Hall of Fame at the National Merit Award, Merit House, Maitama, Abuja secretariat.
This prestigious event, organized by Elaction Magazine, Royal Magation and Elation Communication Ltd, recognized people for their exceptional leadership and lasting contributions to national progress through sport, public service and the defense of health.
Other important winners included Chief Onyekachukwu Ogbu, Hon. Dr. Oluwasegun Musa, captain Raymond Bitanis, Dr. Rafiu Oladipo and Brig. General Mohammed Buba Maruwa (RTD.), Among others, for their significant governance efforts, youth development and the construction of the nation.
Hajji Gafar expressed his sincere gratitude to 36 lion FC/36 Leone Investment, Ajara All Stars International, Badagry Fans, Ikeja/Agege fans, the great islanders, the entire Surulere Supporter, the Board of Directors of LSfa and the members and his companions as president of FA of Kwara, Kogi and Gombe States for their supporter not invaded for the non -supporter for their supporter for their supporter his trust.
In a special declaration, Hajji Gafar recognized the call and founder of the prize, the journalist veteran Mr. Darlington Umoru, publisher of the Royal International Magazine, for his vision and commitment to recognize excellence in national development.
He praised Mr. Umoru for creating a platform that honors and celebrates people who are influencing the future of Nigeria through their service and impact.
The event collected dignitaries from various sectors and has strengthened the national meaning of honoring leadership, service and commitment to the progress of society.
