The pupils of Ogun wandering streets while inhaboun neglects the school affected for some time

Over three months after a devastating mosperant destroyed the mospraio, Imepe, in ijebu-Ode, in the state of Ogun, the pupils were left blocked without classrooms, without the intervention of the government in sight.

The accident, which occurred on Sunday 26 January 2025, destroyed the key structures of the school, exposing hundreds of students to the danger and interrupting their education. Despite public protests, the administration of the governor Dapo Inhabitun has yet to start any reconstruction or rehabilitation work in the premises.

The civic technology platform, Monitng, launched the alarm on Saturday, denigrating the abandonment of the students and warning of the serious risks they now face.

“The struck students were left wandering on the streets during school hours,” Monitng said in a post. “Some have resorted to swimming in a stream near the old Ijagun road, putting their lives at risk of drowning and exposure to water -based diseases.”

The group has expressed concern about the fact that the prolonged abandonment is not only jeopardizing the education of students, but also their health and their future.

“This is a serious threat to their security,” Monitng said. “Leaving the school building in its damaged state for this long is worsening the structure. It must be repaired immediately before it becomes an even larger danger.”

In addition to its role of learning center, the Muslim global high school also acts as a seat during the elections, further emphasizing its importance for the local community.

With the state government of Ogun who announces a budget of 703 billion ₦ for 2025, critics claim that there is no justification for the delay in the repair of the school.

Monitng urged the governor inhabitaun and senator Gbenga Daniel, who represents Ogun East in the Senate and is a former government governor, to act quickly to save students from further difficulties.

The efforts to reach the Ministry of State Education for comments on the plans for the reconstruction of the school have not been successful at the time of the press.

In the meantime, the parents and leaders of the interested community ask for an urgent action, warning that the continuous abandonment of public education infrastructures could have long -term consequences for the development of the state.
