The IMO state commissioner for sports development, Hon. Obinna Evaristus Onyeocha, she congratulated the Super Falcons goalkeeper, called Nnadozie, to have arrived fourth in the Ballon d’Or Yachine ranking of 2025 in Paris, France.
Hon. Onyeocha described the recognition of Nnadozie as a well -deserved honor, observing that it has constantly distinguished itself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He recalled that the star born in Imo was voted for the best African goalkeeper for two consecutive years and also emerged as the best goalkeeper of the last Cup of the Africa Nations (Wafcon).
The commissioner also highlighted his exceptional performances both for the super Falcons and for his club in England, where he continues to show the world -class goalkeeper’s ability.
Hon. Onyeocha also recalled that the executive governor of the Imo state, illustrious senator Hope Uzodimma, had hosted players of IMO origin who represented Nigeria at Wafcon in Morocco, in recognition of their efforts and encouraged them to reach greater heights.
“Call is not only a pride for the state of imo, but also for Nigeria and Africa in general. His remarkable successes continue to inspire young athletes, in particular female, to dream big and pursue the greatness in their careers”, Hon. Onyeocha said.
He assured that the IMO state government is committed to supporting and cultivating sports talents throughout the state, with the success of Nnadozie that acts as a brilliant example of what dedication and discipline can achieve.
