The troops kill the notorious deputy of the leading leader, five more in Kogi

The troops of the Nigerian army killed a well -known vice commander of Bandito, Babangida Kachala, and five other fighters during an operation in the state of Kogi.

The operation, performed by the 12 Brigade Lokoja pursuant to the Accord III operation in collaboration with other hybrid forces (Ohf), took place on 11 September in the Ofere Forest and Ayoro Gbade area in the area of ​​the local government of Ijumu.

The spokesman for the brigade, Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, confirmed the turning point in a statement on Saturday, describing the raid as a serious blow for the network of bandits that operates in the state.

He said: “In a bold operation, the troops neutralized Babangida Kachala, second in command of Kachala Bala Shuaibu, leader of a notorious group of bandits. The operation was launched following a credible intelligence on the movement of bandits around of of Forest and Ayoro Gude.”

Abdullahi explained that although the initial ambusher did not produce results, the troops later were hit by the criminals while retiring at the base. A ferocious battle of firearms followed, during which the soldiers overwhelmed the gang.

The articles recovered from the scene included a full -load magazine, 31 cell phones, pendants, a blood pressure machine, tablet tramadol packages and ₦ 16,000 in cash.

The army also revealed that blood stains suggested that many other fighters fled with firearm wounds. The subsequent intelligence later confirmed that Kachala, who had been wounded during the fire clash, died later.

Lieutenant Abdullahi assured the residents of the army’s commitment to restore peace and urged the locals to continue to provide credible information to security agencies.

“The morale and combat efficiency of our troops remain high and the operations will continue until peace is reached,” he said.
