The United States government said that the president of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro wanted for the alleged drug trafficking.

The United States government also declared two close allies of the president, Diosdado Cabello Rondon and Vladimir Godfather Lopez, they wanted for the alleged crime.

The United States Department of State, a declaration issued on Tuesday 29 July 2025, announced a combined reward of $ 65 million for information that led to the arrest and condemnation of the three Venezuelan officials.

The US authorities accused the trio of being the leader of the Cartel de Los Soles, which has recently been designated a terrorist organization by the United States Treasury Department.

The State Department stated that the cartel was responsible for the drug trafficking in the United States.

A sought after poster issued by the President of the United States described President Maduro as a “leader of the designated global terrorist sign” and outlines accusations including the conspiracy of narco-terrorism, the conspiracy of cocaine import and the conspiracy to use and transport machine guns and destructive devices to support a drug crime.

The announcement comes a day after Maduro marked the anniversary of one year of his re -election: a vote that the United States and his allies described as fraudulent.

The United States have long refused to recognize the government of Maduro and has imposed multiple penalties behind the political and economic leadership of Venezuela.
