The University of Abuja appoints Mike Ozekhome San as a visit …

Abuja Leadership Center (ALC), a center of Tetfund excellence in public governance and leadership at the University of Abuja, announced the appointment of a famous constitutional lawyer and defender of human rights, Professor Mike Aa Ozekhome, San, with, of, Ph.D., as a professor visited.

The appointment, broadcast in a letter signed by the Director of the Center, Professor Dahida D. Philip, follows what the University has described as a “rigorous selection process” in which Ozekhome’s profile “emerged surprisingly remarkable”.

According to the Alc, Ozekhome’s distinct career covers decades of legal practice, academic scholarship and leadership in activism and pro-democracy movements in Nigeria. He worked as a legal teacher at the University of Obafemi Awolowo (Oau) and the University of Benson Idahosa (Biu) and has achieved multiple advanced degrees including a LLM, PhD, LL.D, as well as different honorary degrees in law, leadership and humanities from institutions around the world.

The letter highlighted the “profound understanding of the constitutional law” of Ozekhome and its numerous national interventions on leadership and governance as quality that “would inspire the younger generations of leaders and extinguish their intellectual thirst”.

The Abuja Leadership Center, a world program supported by the Bank under Tetfund and now hosted at the recently renamed Yakubu Gowon University, is mandatory to redesign leadership and governance throughout Africa through research, post-graduate training and skills development initiatives.

The Center expressed optimism on the fact that Ozekhome’s wealth of experience will contribute significantly to his mission and asked to formally communicate his acceptance within a month. [NewsCorrespondent]
