Tinubu a Niger Delta Leaders: Fubara consultant to restore peace in the rivers


President Bola Tinubu directed the leaders of the Niger delta pursuant to the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (Pandef) to recommend the governor of the State of the Siminalayi Fubara rivers to resolve the political crisis in the state.

Tinubu gave the directive as he turned to Pandef leaders in the presidential villa in Abuja on Tuesday 11 March 2025.

The president who underlined the critical need for adherence to the rule of law in the state of rivers to ensure that lasting peace and prosperity have reiterated this respect for the judiciary is crucial in supporting democracy and promoting harmony.

He advised leaders to be wider, altruistic and focused on the wider vision of saving the region, politically and economically, insisting on the fact that the interpretations of the constitution of the judiciary are respected.

Tinubu said: “The Niger delta is the goose that lays the golden egg. We must take care of the goose; Otherwise, we lose the golden egg. I received your signal and your concern, in particular on the state of spinners. I’ve been on the question for some time. I expected the crisis that makes me too long before I intervene.

“We have reached an agreement, a written agreement and both signed parties.”

The president said that the interested parties must make sacrifices for the state to go on recognizing the Constitution.

Tinubu added: “This is a nation governed by the rule of law. I shouldn’t be here as president without a state of law. I have total trust in our judiciary. We have expectations. Human beings can make mistakes. But once the court spoke, that’s all.

“Please return home and helps to implement the judgments of the court as soon as possible. I’m putting the ball in your field. Help! They intervene and advise openly and recommend the governor. Pursue the path of peace and stability. “

Tinubu told the delegation that his priority remains the development of the community, in particular the projects and programs that positively affect citizens.

“Back home and take care of peace. If you need me, let me know. I gave the situation enough time and quite consideration. We cannot fall back and we will not do it. The people of the state of sparrows will not suffer because of democracy. We worked together. They will not suffer. They must be protected, “said Tinubu.

The president also thanked the delegation for recognizing the efforts to stimulate the economy for more sustainable and predictable growth.

He said: “We cannot reach Eldorado in one day. But we are on the street. We will happen by grace of almighty God.

“We are restoring the economy and it seems much better. We have funds for our children to college. Our medical colleges are also preparing. “

Tinubu has observed that the project on a coastal road in progress will create new economic benefits for the Niger delta and the country.

“We are already working with international companies to build ports in the states of the Niger delta,” he said.

King Alfred Papapreye Diete-Spiff, Amnyanabo of the Kingdom of Twon-Brass and Coprestrine of the Pandef Foundation Council, thanked Tinubu for his commitment for South-South well-being and the appointments assigned to the niger delta indigenous.

Pandef’s delegation included former governors, legislators, ministers, traditional leaders, religious leaders and groups of young people and women.
