Tinubu appointed Akande, Olanipekun, Yuguda and 252 others to the institution’s governing board

President Bola Tinubu has appointed the pioneer chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, and 254 others to the country’s governing council and tertiary council.

The Permanent Secretary in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Nnamdi Mbaeri, who confirmed the development in a statement on Friday in Abuja, said Akande would chair the governing council of the University of Ibadan.

A Senior Nigerian Advocate, Wole Olanipekun, was appointed chairman of the governing board of the University of Lagos, and former governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda, was appointed chairman of the governing board of the National Open University.

Former Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, has been elected as chairman of the governing board of David Umahi Medical University in Ebonyi State and Siyan Oyeweso for Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, Osun State.

Also appointed are former APC National Legal Adviser, Muiz Banire, who will head the Federal University of Transport, Katsina, governing council, and Senator Florence Ita Giwa for Federal Polytechnic, Ugep, Cross River State.
