The President of the Tinubu ball has appointed Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe as Chair of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) for the first four years of office.
Special advisors about information and strategies to the President, Bayo Onanuga, revealed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.
He said Oloriegbe’s appointment came into force on March 11.
An experienced medical professional and a former member of parliament, Oloriegbe represented the Kawwa Central Senatorial District in the 9th Senate, where he served as Chair of the Senate Committee for Health from 2019 to 2023.

He also arranged the Committee of the Combined National Assembly on Health, playing an important role in forming health policies in Nigeria.
Oloriegbe holds a master’s degree in fostering and consulting from the University of Oxford, UK, and Hec, Paris.
He obtained a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Association of Nigerian Public and Personal Medical Practitioners (AGPMPN), Nigeria Venereal Disease Association, Nigerian Medical Director alliance, International Aids Society (IAS), and health leadership networks and health leadership networks.
