President Bola Tinubu appointed Omotenioye Majekodunmi as general manager of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC).
The presidential spokesman Bayo Onanoga made this known in a declaration issued on Thursday 31 July 2025.
Majekodunmi succeeded Dr. Nkiruka Madueke, the pioneer of the Council, which was appointed by Tinubu in June 2024.
ONANUGA mentioned Tinubu that he had appreciated Madueke for his dedicated service and strong bases for the continuous growth of the Council.
Majekodunmi, an expert in climate funding and environmental lawyer with over 17 years of experience, has worked with global and national institutions on renewable energy, carbon markets and climatic governance.
Previously he held the role of financial consultant of the NCCC and played a key role in modeling the climatic policies of Nigeria and international commitments.
