President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honor of the officer of the Order of Niger (OON) on the players of the Super Falcons and the members of the technical crew following their historic victory at Africa Women’s Africa Cup (Wafcon) of 2025 in Morocco.

The president also announced cash prizes of the $ 100,000 Naira equivalent for each of the 24 players and $ 50,000 for each member of the technical crew.

The Super Falcons raised the Wafcon Trophy for a tenth time after a dramatic 3-2 return victory over the hosts of Morocco on Saturday.

Receiving the team in the presidential villa, Abuja, Monday, Tinubu praised their performance, describing it as a testimony of the “indomitable spirit of resilience, determination and courage”.

“In recognition of your historical success and the pride that you brought to our nation, I confuse you the national honor of the officer of the Niger order,” he said.

The president also announced the assignment of an apartment with three bedrooms to each player and a crew member in the renewed Hope housing property in Abuja.

“I congratulate me once again. The nation is proud of you and I will continue to pray for your continuous success,” added Tinubu.
