Tinubu held a closed meeting without notice with the Governor of Fubara

In a development that has triggered speculation in all political circles, Bola President Ahmed Tinubu on Monday night held a closed meeting with the Governor of the State Rivers, Sir Siminaayi Fubara, at the President’s Villa in Abuja.

Governor Fubara arrived at Aso Rock around 6:20 pm, wearing a traditional white kaftan and black hat, but the details of the meeting remained meeting.

This marked Fubara’s first official meeting with the President since the controversial political crisis in the Rivers state earlier this year, which led to the Tinubu declaration on the emergency on March 18. At that time, the President suspended democratic institutions in the state and appointed a single administrator to take over government – steps that attracted criticism and light concerns.

The emergency rules were revoked on September 18, 2025, restoring democratic control in an oil -rich country after almost six months of federal supervision. The reappearance of Fubara in the villa indicates what many people believe can be part of a broader political reconciliation process – or recalibration of control between ASO Rock and the state government.

While there is no official agenda for the meeting released when submitting this report, the time is only a few days after the appointment of emergency rules-after asking questions about the negotiations behind the scenes and the future of the government in the state of Rivers.

Fubara’s visit came shortly after President Tinubu held a series of high -level meetings on the previous day with the main political and economic players. Among them are: Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Governor of the State of Kwara and Chair of the Nigerian Governor Forum (NGF), Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of the State of IMO and Chair of the Progressive Governor Forum (PGF), Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives Representative, Zacch Adeden Abbas, Speaker Representatives, Zacch Adedene Adeden Abbas, DPR Speaker, Zacch Adedene Adeden Abbas, House of Representatives, Zacch Adeden Abbas Edun, Minister of Finance and Minister of Coordination Economics

While the president has maintained silence about the purpose and results of the meeting with Fubara, political observers oversee the signs of reconciliation or the game of further strength after the political instability of the Rivers state.
