Tinubu hosts Osun Gov Adeleke, Davido, meets GOVS Smokes suspended in Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Monday, held separate private meetings with The executive governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, together with his older brother and business magnate, the head of Adedeji Adeleke and the acclaimed Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

The president also received the suspended governor of the state of sparrows, Siminalayi Fubara in his Lagos residence on Tuesday.

The meeting, which was not officially announced in advance, became public knowledge after the photographs emerged online, showing the president in discussions behind closed doors with the Adeleke family and Fubara in separate meetings.

The aim and result of the visits were not disclosed at the time of submitting this report.

The development was confirmed in the posts by the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusgegun, who wrote on X (previously Twitter):

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu receives among the public, Ademola Adeleke, executive governor of the State of Osun, and the head of Adedeji Adeleke and his son and the Afrobeats star #davido in his residence in Lagos.”

While the details remain scarce, political analysts suggest that the visit could have vast implications, considering the influence of the Adeleke family in the state policy of Osun and the status of global celebrity of Davido.

The meeting between the President Tinubu and Fubara, Tuesday, have described it as a crucial follow-up for previous resolutions aimed at solving the prolonged political crisis in the state of oil.

The photos issued by the Media State House unit showed Fubara in a serious conversation with the president in the Lagos residence.

However, no declaration was issued by any of the parties regarding the details or results of the meeting.

Fubara’s visit marks the second time that he would meet the president privately from his suspension from the office on March 18, 2025.

Even his deputy, Ngozi Odu and all members of the Fivers State House of Assembly were suspended by the President, after months of political instability and open clash between executive and legislative weapons in the state.

In a national transmission shortly after the suspensions, President Tinubu declared his state of emergency in the state of sparrows, citing the urgent need to “restore stability and the constitutional order”.

Subsequently he appointed the IBOK-OBAS retired deputy admiral as a state administrator to supervise governance for a period of six months.

The latest audience of Fubara with Tinubu is seen as part of the current efforts for peace broker and determining the future political direction of the upset governor and his suspended administration.

Back-to-back meetings with the best political characters and influential stakeholders underline what the employees to the professionals describe as a season of strategic consultations of the Tinubu Presidency, while the nation is preparing with regional tensions and is preparing for crucial reforms.

Although formal printing briefing have not been followed in neither meetings, political observers believe that commitments are part of the broader strategy of Tinubu to consolidate national unity and put political crises in the key states.
