Tinubu reforms feed a new wave of subnational development, for Sunday Osa – Thage

Through the 36 States of Nigeria, an now obvious and relentless economic transformation is taking place, guided by the bold and strategic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. From Benin City to Bernin Kebbi, Lagos in Lafia, the signs are increasingly clear: the renewed agenda of hope does not only concern the empty political slogan, but it is a national movement that is giving power to state governments to offer real and measurable progress to their people.

This new development wave is intentional. Results from the attention of the careful adjustment of President Tinubu of the economic structure of Nigeria. The removal of sustenterable fuel subsidies, the unification of exchange rates and a more sensitive debt profile are starting to stabilize the macroeconomic foundations. But above all, these reforms are restoring the tax space, reconstructing the trust of investors and allowing subnational governments to act as authentic development centers.

In their strategic refuge just ended in Benin City, the governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which are found through the Progressive Governors forum (PGF), practiced the president’s reform agenda for the repositioning of states as economic renewal engines. In their press release, they outlined how the policies started at the federal level are unlocking directly at the state level: better infrastructures, increased capital affluses, best public supply systems and more robust digital governance paintings.

These are not simple political results: they are the foundations of a new type of federalism: one built on economic coordination, local autonomy and shared prosperity.

The renewed agenda of hope recognizes that national development must be inclusive, decentralized and focused on people. This is the reason why the Tinubu administration has strengthened tax transfers to states, giving governors the tools to adapt solutions to local needs, both in agriculture, youth employment, the support of small businesses or social protection. With the right incentives and institutional alignment, governors are now able to translate the presidential vision into localized actions.

And this alignment is paying.

In all states led by the APC, we are witnessing an increase in investors’ interests, new public-private partnerships and a visible commitment for competitiveness and reform. From the new industrial roads and corridors to innovations in the education and disbursement of health, the message is clear: the era of passive governance is over.

Of course, none of these progress can be maintained without safety. The strong position of the president on national security is combined by a renewed push for basic intelligence, better coordination and a police -based police. The PGF echoed to this, promising to support the security framework of the Federal Government while improving the surveillance and well -being of staff at the local level.

It is important to underline that governors also underlined the role of the structures of the local government – those closest to the people – in providing democratic dividends. Reforms are already underway to make local advice more reactive, transparent and development -oriented. This aligns with the opinion of the president according to which sustainable transformation must start from the basis.

It is also worth noting the ongoing political realignment throughout the country. The recent decision of the Governor of the State of Akwa Ibom, HUMP HUMBER Pastor, and Governor of the Delta State, RT. Hon. The sheriff Oborevwori, to join the progressive fold, speaks of volumes. He reflects a national consensus that the agenda of renewed hope does not work alone, but is resounding.

The APC ability to manage leadership transitions, including the recent discharge of its national president, dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, further underlines the maturity of the party and its institutional resilience.

While we go on, the message from the presidency is clear: these reforms, although difficult, are necessary and are already providing results. But to consolidate these earnings, the Nigerians must remain engaged, optimistic and engaged in the national vision.

The way to go can still support challenges, but for the first time for a long time, it is a path paved with the purpose, discipline and possibilities. The commitment of President Tinubu is unshakable. The support of our governors is stopped. And with the support of the Nigerians, the journey to a safer, fair and prosperous Nigeria is well started.
