President Bola Tinubu will leave for Beijing, China, in the first week of September.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this to State House reporters on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said the president would sign a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, during his visit to the Asian country.
He added that President Tinubu would also visit two major Chinese companies, Huawei Technologies and China Railway and Construction Corporation (CRCC) while in the country.
Ngelale said: βThis is done to achieve one of the Presidentβs main agendas, which is the completion of the Lagos-Kano high-speed rail line from Ibadan to Abuja.β
βAfter that, the President will meet with CEOs of 10 major Chinese companies with assets under management worth more than $3 trillion across various economic sectors.

βThese sectors include information and communications technology, oil & gas, aluminum production, port construction/dredging services, financial services, and satellite technology, among others.
βThe memorandum of understanding will include agreements on deepening cooperation in the fields of green economy, agriculture, satellite technology development, media business development, and promotion, as well as blue economy development and national planning cooperation.
βThis will be part of a broader engagement where the two heads of state will discuss a range of issues of mutual interest, not only economic, but also national, regional and international security issues.β
