President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a solidarity visit to the residence of Kaduna of the former president Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, ensuring the Buhari family to support the legacy of the late leader.
President Tinubu was received by the widow of Buhari, Aisha, his eldest son, Yusuf and other relatives and members of the deceased leader.
President Tinubu said that the family is not alone in pain.
“We are only here to make sure we share your pain, we share your pain.
“A loss of meat is not a loss in the spirit and the spirit that has left with us is a spirit of hard work, dedication, patriotism and honesty, and we are doing it.
“We assure you and the entire family that we will continue with the legacy of our leader, the brand he has made for Nigeria. We will continue on the path of honesty, integrity and great character that has slipped into us.
“May God help Nigeria, keep us united and together in the promised land,” said the president.
With an emotional voice, Aisha Buhari thanked the president and his government for supporting the family in their pain.
He said that the president’s visit and his delegation was a source of consolation.
“I would like to use this means to thank you once again, the First Lady, the vice president’s wife, for being close to me and my family,” he said.
Aisha said that her deceased husband represented honesty, integrity and justice, exhorting the Nigerians to emulate his virtues.
“I would like to pray for Nigeria, so that peace reigns, for the unity of the country and for you, the president Tinubu, to continue with the legacy of honesty, integrity, tolerance, responsibility and justice of my deceased husband.
The president was accompanied to the residence by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and by the president of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.
The governors of Kwara, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq; Yobe, Mai Mala Buni; Borno, Babagana Zulum; And Sokoto, Ahmed Aliyu, were part of the presidential hidden.
The president was also accompanied by Wale Edun, Minister of Finance; Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Planning; Nice Matawalle, Minister of State for Defense; And Nhu Ribadu, director for national security.
Previously, President Tinubu has honored Nasirudeen Abdulaziz Yari’s marriage, son of Senator Abdulaziz Yari, who represents Zamfara West.
Nasirudeen married Safiyya Shehu Idris in the historic sultan mosque in the beauty of Kaduna.
The president Tinubu, accompanied by high government officials, received the groom by hand on behalf of the Yari family after the bride’s representative, Ibrahim Ashiru, confirmed the payment of the dowry N1 million.
The president praised both families for supporting the noble traditions and encouraged the young couple to build their home on faith, love and mutual respect.
The colorful opportunity, which attracted dignitaries from all over the country, including traditional sovereigns, leaders and politicians, was marked by prayers for the president and the nation by the famous cleric Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau and by the officiant head of the Imam of the mosque, dr. Muhammad Suleiman.
