Toni Payne attributes family football roots for their promotion with Super Falcons

The Super Falcons striker, Toni Payne has revealed that his football trip has been molded by the deep connection of his family with the sport, especially the influence of his father, a personal coach and coach in the United States.

Payne, who currently stars in Everton FC women, shared ideas about how football has been a unifying thread at home, with its two brothers also practicing the sport at high levels.

“My younger sister, Nicole, has played here in the Super Falcon, so I have a younger brother who plays professionally in the United States and has played many years professionally in Portugal.”

She attributed much of the family’s sports success to her father’s dedication and vision:

“I suppose that much of our success comes from our father. He is a personal coach and coach for football in the United States.”

“He grew up with a passion and a love for football and really wanted to instill in us as his children and only in the local, in our area where we grew up.”

“So I think we, you know, we owe much of that.”

Toni’s younger sister, Nicole Payne, has also represented Nigeria at a higher level, while her brother has professionally competed in both Portugal and the United States, completing what could be said that it is one of the most focused on the football of the diaspora.

Toni Payne has become a vital gear in the center of the Super Falcons field, known for his intelligence on the ball, vision and linking.

His performances were key in the FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign in FIFA, and remains a central figure while the team prepares for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup (WAFCON).
