The National Sports Festival tagged Gateway Games 2025 Torch landed in Owerri the capital of the IMO state on Monday 28/4/25.
The Olympic torch of the Sports Festival was received by the Commissioner for State Sport, Hon Obinna Onyeocha and the director of the IMO State Sports Commission, Lady Justina Akpulo at Dan Anyiam Stadium.
The duo, including the bearer of Torce, a former defensive ace, guided the athletes as they walked from Dan Anyiam Stadium to the government’s house to present the torch to the governor of the state.
In a command style, the Commissioner for Sport delivered the torch to the director of sport who also marched to deliver the governor to deliver the same to hope that Uzodinma.
After the Torcia reception, the governor in a short observation said that the torch is a torch of units and solidarity, he still accused the athletes of the soul of going all the way during the games to win laurels for the state while they promised them to reward them fragrantly.
The event was testified by the vice -president of the IMO state assembly, Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu, the secretary of the state government and a series of other best government officials too numerous to be mentioned.
Games Games are billed to start from 15/5/25 in the state of Ogun.
