Nigerian Army troops have killed suspected terrorists and rescued kidnapped persons in a nationwide operation.
They also arrested criminal elements in the operation that took place in the last 24 hours.
The Nigerian Army disclosed this in an operational update released to journalists on Saturday in Abuja.
“In Plateau, Operation Enduring Peace troops neutralized three terrorists during an ambush in Wase Local Government Area and thwarted an attack on civilians in Shendam, where the injured were evacuated.
” In Borno, Operation Hadin Kai troops thwarted an attempted improvised explosive device (IED) attack along the Konduga–Kawuri road, neutralizing two terrorists and recovering weapons.

They also arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin in Toungo, Adamawa, linked to kidnappings and attacks on security forces, as well as three logistics suppliers and a suspected kidnapper in Borno.
“In Operation Fansan Yamma, troops rescued 10 kidnap victims in separate operations in Sokoto and Katsina, while also arresting five suspected cattle thieves in Kebbi and recovering livestock.
“In the Southeast, troops recovered and safely detonated four improvised explosive devices in Abia, while arresting suspected cultists and shooters in Cross River and Ebonyi states.
“In the Niger Delta, soldiers intercepted tampered materials and a vehicle carrying about 900 liters of illegally refined petroleum products in Rivers,” he said.
