Troops save 16 passengers kidnapped in the plateau
The troops of 3 divisions of the Nigerian army and the Safe Haven (Opsh) operation saved 16 passengers kidnapped along Jos – Mangu Road in the state of the plateau. The rescue operation began when the troops that lead the Lafiyan Jam’A operation discovered an empty vehicle abandoned on the edge of the Kantoma Mararaban road in the state local Mangu government area at about 9:00 pm in Sunda, on April 13, 2025.

According to the declaration, the troops immediately tried to the neighboring bushes to trace the occupants of the vehicle suspected of having been kidnapped. The kidnappers, as they sighted the troops opened fire, but their troops overwhelmed the criminals with a higher fire power that forced them to abandon the victims and fled. The troops took advantage of the general area and saved all 16 kidnapped passengers who included 6 children.
The troops administered the emergency room to some of the saved victims who suffered slight injuries during the accident. Subsequently, the troops escorted the victims to continue to continue their journey to Jos Metropolis. In the meantime, the troops are looking for the ranks to be suspected of having suffered a gun wounds during the meeting with the troops.
Basic journalists report that Opsh reiterated their commitment to protect lives and properties within the joint operating area, while the troops remain motivated to deny freedom of action.
