Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday presented starkly contrasting visions of America’s future in their recent speeches.
Trump, speaking in Pennsylvania on Sunday, advocated a police crackdown on crime, and stressed the need for authorities to act βvery harshly.β
This rhetoric received thunderous applause from the audience as he recounted examples of brazen daylight robbery in big cities.
Trump insisted that criminals must be βtaughtβ and that one βday of violenceβ was enough to get the message across.
He blamed the βliberal leftβ for obstructing law enforcement from carrying out their duties.

Instead, Harris focused on immigration reform during a rally in Nevada, addressing βserious problemsβ with border security.
He pledged to double Justice Department resources to fight transnational cartels and criticized Trump’s inaction on immigration reform during his presidency. Harris emphasized the economy, health care and comprehensive reform without providing specific details.
Trump’s speech reiterated his dark and racially charged narrative of an America filled with migrants and violent criminals. He claimed terrorists entered the country and named Congolese prisons as the place of origin for many individuals. This rhetoric echoed his previous statements, prompting concerns about inflammatory language and its potential consequences.
The differences in approaches by Trump and Harris reflect the polarized political landscape heading into the November 5 presidential election.
Pennsylvania and Nevada are critical states, and Pennsylvania is considered the most critical of the seven affected states.
