The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has revoked the prolonged protection of the secret service of the former vice -president Kamala Harris, canceling an order of the biden era.
The decision, outlined in a memorandum dated on Thursday, will come into force from 1 September 2025.
According to the Federal Law of the United States, the former US presidents are protected by the law enforcement agency for life after leaving the position, the former presidents of deputy receive protection for six months
Harris’ right ended on July 21, 2024. However, Biden had signed a non -disclosed directive that granted her a further year of coverage. It was this extension that Trump canceled in his Memorandum addressed to the secretary of national securization.
The letter reads: “You are authorized to interrupt any safety procedures previously authorized by the executive memorandum, beyond those requested by law, for the following individual, in force on 1 September 2025: former vice -president Kamala D. Harris.”
