In a reference move to safeguard the rights and well -being of professional players in Edo’s state, the main parties concerned converged on Monday 30 June, for a joint high -power meeting started by the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footders (Nanpf), a affiliate of the Congress of the Union Trade (TUC).
The meeting, held in Benin City, brought together officials of the Council of State TUC Edo, the chapter of the Edo State of Nanpf and the Sports Commission of the Edo State – the supervisory body for Bendel Insurance FC and Edo Queens FC.
The high of the Agenda were urgent issues relating to the well -being, working conditions and fundamental rights of professional players, discussed within the double paintings of Nigerian labor law and FIFA regulations that regulate the status and transfer of players.
Speaking to the session, his partner Asemota Iyke, President of the Council of State Tuc Edo, underlined the importance of aligning the working conditions of the players with the rights of the labor established. He was accompanied by the vice -president, his partner Alabi and the secretary of state.
Nanpf was strongly represented by his president of the state Edo, his partner David Aigbovo; Secretary, Uwaifo John; Public relations officer, blessings of Ngozi; National executive secretary, Austin Popo; And the protocol officer, Kevin Etemike.
By the Government, the president of the Edo State Sports Commission, the Hon. Desmond Enabulele, led a delegation of the members of the Board of Directors, expressing the will of the Commission to commit himself in collaboration in facing the concerns raised.
The resolutions reflected a growing awareness of the unique status of players both as workers and athletes, with all the parties that agree on the need for structured dialogues, equitations and adherence to national and international work standards.
The meeting ended with the commitment to create a joint committee to further simplify the communication and implementation of policies aimed at improving the work environment for players in the Edo state sports system.
